Ministry of Youth and Sports Launches Training of Trainers Workshop to Strengthen Nationwide Implementation of the National Youth Pathway Program
The Ministry of Youth and Sports has officially launched a Training of Trainers (ToT) workshop aimed at equipping county coordinators with the knowledge, skills, and tools necessary to effectively implement the National Youth Pathway Program (NYPP) across Liberia.
The workshop marks a significant step in the Ministry's commitment to building a coordinated and sustainable youth development system that empowers young people with opportunities for skills development, employment readiness, and personal growth.
Delivering remarks on behalf of the Deputy Minister for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and Acting Minister, Laraamand S. Nyonton, the Ministry's Deputy Minister for Administration, Hon. Henry Yonton, congratulated participants on their selection and encouraged them to approach the training with dedication, professionalism, and a strong sense of responsibility.
He emphasized that the effectiveness of the National Youth Pathway Program will largely depend on how well participants transfer the knowledge and skills gained during the workshop to those they will train in their respective counties.
"The way you present this training will determine whether those you train will develop and become useful members of society," Hon. Yonton said.
He urged participants to serve as ambassadors of the program by ensuring that the lessons learned are replicated accurately and effectively at the county level. He also welcomed the coordinators to the Ministry, assuring them of the institution's full support throughout the implementation process while commending the NYPP team and the organizing committee for successfully coordinating the workshop.
Speaking earlier, the Director of Youth Development, Samuel James Kpartor, welcomed both newly recruited and returning county coordinators, describing the National Youth Pathway Program as a key component of the Ministry's ongoing transformation into a more efficient, structured, and results-driven institution.
According to Director Kpartor, the workshop is intentionally designed as a Training of Trainers model to ensure that participants can replicate the knowledge and practical skills acquired during the session within their respective counties, thereby creating a standardized approach to program implementation nationwide.
He commended the National Youth Pathway Program team, led by Ora Barclay, for their dedication and hard work in organizing the training and reaffirmed the Ministry's commitment to delivering quality youth-centered interventions throughout Liberia.
Director Kpartor further encouraged participants to maintain close collaboration with the NYPP implementation team, adhere to established communication protocols, and demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and teamwork throughout the execution of the program.
He reminded the coordinators that the Ministry of Youth and Sports remains one of Liberia's most closely monitored public institutions, making transparency, effective coordination, and responsible leadership essential to the successful delivery of the National Youth Pathway Program.
The one-day Training of Trainers workshop brought together county coordinators from the 15 counties, and training is intended to strengthen inter-agency collaboration, enhance implementation capacity, and ensure the successful nationwide rollout of the National Youth Pathway Program, which seeks to provide young Liberians with meaningful pathways to skills development, employment, entrepreneurship, and civic engagement.
