2029 Elections will be Held Long Before 2029," Says Minister Jeror Cole Bangalu
Liberia’s Minister of Youth and Sports, Cllr. Jeror Cole Bangalu, has boldly declared that while many are looking toward the 2029 elections, the transformation the country will experience under President Joseph N. Boakai’s leadership will make it feel like the elections have come much sooner.
Speaking at a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Harleyngee Community Radio in Kolahun, Lofa County, Minister Bangalu emphasized that the Boakai administration is ushering in a period of rapid national growth and development.
"Some people are waiting for 2029, but I say to you, the elections will come long before that — not because of the calendar, but because of the remarkable progress this country will make," he stated confidently.
He praised President Boakai as a leader of integrity and development, noting that unlike others who prioritized personal wealth and mansion-building early in their terms, President Boakai has focused on real, people-centered progress.
“President Boakai did not build mansions in his first year like others have done. Instead, he is building the nation,” Bangalu said.
The Minister also acknowledged past political divisions in Gbandi during the previous elections but expressed optimism that unity is being restored through tangible development initiatives.
“During the past elections, the Gbandi people were divided. But with the kind of visible development we are seeing, we will be more united going forward,” he added.
Minister Bangalu concluded by highlighting the administration’s vision of national infrastructure transformation. He assured citizens that by the end of President Boakai’s term in 2029, every city across Liberia's counties will have paved roads.
“Development is not a dream it is happening, and by 2029, every city in our counties will have proper road connectivity,” he affirmed.
