ONE POWER UNITED VOCATIONAL SCHOOL LIBERIA CONGRATULATES THE YOUTH &SPORTS DEPUTY MINISTER FOR TVET

A vocational training institution known as” One Power United Vocational School Liberia” has congratulated the Youth and Sports Deputy Minister for Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET). Laraamand Shenkin Nyonton

The institution, today, March 26, 2024, paid a courtesy visit to Deputy Minister Laraamand Shenkin Nyonton at his S.K.D office in Paynesville where he was honored and presented a portrait with a congratulatory message.

Speaking on behalf of the school, Mr. Joshua Paul Nugba, Director of the institution said they thought it wise to come and congratulate Hon. Laraamand Shenkin Nyonton for his preferment as Deputy Minister for TVET (DMTVET) because they believed in his ability and the zest, he has in elevating the TVET sector.

According to him, the previous Deputy Minister of TVET did not prioritize smaller vocational schools and schools located in slump communities, but he believes that Deputy Minister Nyonton, with his passion for the sector, will reach out to every TVET institution regardless of its size and location.

Receiving the congratulatory depiction, Deputy Minister Nyonton thanked “One Power United Vocational School” and highlighted that this new administration will take TVET to the people by transforming the sector.

He acknowledged that the challenges are many and the government cannot mitigate all of them, so it’s where the private sector comes in to fill some of the gaps, as they all work to empower the young generation of Liberia.

Deputy Minister Nyonton disclosed that the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Education are collaborating to establish the Liberia TVET Commission which is part of President Joseph Boakai’s 100-day deliverables and it will boast the governing of the TVET sector. He believes that the formation of LITCOM will bring about recognition and partnership in the sector.

Hon. Nyonton revealed that the ministry is currently working on a scholarship scheme that may benefit some deserving students from One Power United Vocational School Liberia benefit.

One Power United Vocational School Liberia is a TVET institution located in New Kru Town. It is a semi-free vocational school that was founded in 2021 by Mr. Joshua P. Nugba and his American partner. The school offers courses in computer science, event decoration, cosmetology, electricity, plumbing, etc.
