MARITIME AND NLA CLAIM VICTORY IN 2025 INTRA-GOVERNMENT TOURNAMENT, AS MYS SECURES SECOND AND THIRD PLACES

The Shipping Boys of the Liberia Maritime Authority (LMA) have once again proven their dominance by clinching the football championship of the 2025 Intra-Governmental Tournament. Defending their title from the previous edition, Maritime secured a hard-fought 1–0 victory over the Liberia Telecommunications Authority (LTA), who settled for the silver medal.

The thrilling final attracted hundreds of government employees from various agencies, who turned out in large numbers to cheer on their teams and enjoy the colorful spectacle at the stadium.

Cllr. Jeror Cole Bangalu’s squad, the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MYS), claimed the third-place spot with a commanding 2–1 win over the Ministry of State for Presidential Affairs, earning them the bronze medal.

Meanwhile, in the highly competitive kickball finals, the National Lottery Authority (NLA) emerged victorious over the Ministry of Youth and Sports in a dramatic showdown. After trailing 3–0 in home runs, the MYS kickball team mounted an impressive comeback to force a penalty shootout, where the Lottery Girls eventually triumphed. This result positioned MYS as runners-up in the kickball category.

In the third-place kickball match, the Liberian Petroleum Refining Company (LPRC) edged past the Judiciary with a narrow 3–2 victory to claim the bronze medal.

The 2025 edition of the Intra-Governmental Tournament will officially conclude on Tuesday, July 15, when the National Social Security and Welfare Corporation (NASSCORP) faces off against the Liberia Maritime Authority in the basketball grand finale at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex Gymnasium in Paynesville City.
